OOB build, airbrushed with Revell paints in desert scheme.
Triumph TR4A, Airfix, 1/32nd scale.
A fairly old kit passed to me - it was an unwanted gift for the previous owner. The instructions comprised three exploded diagrams only. This, together with poor quality moldings, led to a tough build. It's airbrushed with Revell Aqua paints.
De Haviilland Vampire Mk T.11. Airfix, 1/72nd scale.
Painted using Revell Aquacolor paints. Nice to build, as its one of the new tooled Airfix kits. It's nice to have a plane where the pilot and co-pilot sit next to each other for a change. I had a reaction to the varnish on the canopy, but these things happen. Just simulating a demister failure during preflight checks (well that's the story anyway).
BAE Sea Harrier FRS.1 and Douglas A-4P Skyhawk Dogfight Doubles Gift Set. Airfix, 1/72nd scale.
OOB, but painted using Revell Aqua acrylic paints.
Falklands Conflict Dogfight Double
Curtiss P-40B Warhawk and Mitsubishi Zero Dogfight Doubles Gift Set. Airifx, 1/72nd scale.
My first use of canopy paint masks and very happy with the results. Will be using them again! Painted with Revell Aqua acrylic paints.
Aleksey Vasilyevich Alelyukhin was a Soviet Air Force major general, World War II flying ace and double Hero of the Soviet Union. During World War II, Alelyukhin shot down at least 28 enemy aircraft. He served in the 9th Guards Fighter Aviation Regiment and went on to a series of post-war command positions, retiring as a major general in 1985. He also flew during the Korean War.
Mini Countryman WRC, Airfix, 1/32nd scale.
Debuted by the MINI WRC team during the 2011 World Rally Chamopinship, the Mini Countryman WRC is the first rally car to bear the Mini label in top-level rallying since the 1960s. The car had been developed by ProDrive and is equipped with a 1.6 litre turbo engine derived from the production model.
The kit was hand-painted and airbrushed with Revell paints. I coulour-matched as close as possible with the kit instructions. A straight-forward build, it was just the wheel alignment that was awkward. A decent interior, although most of it is hidden when assembled.
